Is my i7 920 temp to high for 1.25v?

I was running bad company 2 the other day, and I was just curious what my tempature was. I started up realtemp, and played for about an hour. I closed bad company 2, and looked at the high temp for core 0 in realtemp. It was 75c! I don't know if thats good or not, but it seems pretty hot to me. I have tried reseating my h70 a few times, but I saw no difference. I use about a 1.5 size grane of rice of as5. I have push pull gelid fans that are like 1500rpm.

That is a little hot. My i7 at 4ghz only hits 60*c on full load. Something is wrong with your setup

With stock cooling?

OP My 920 i7 is similar to yours with that much voltage as well, and I am using the stock cooler.. Even at 75c if that is your max.. your probably fine.

My motherboard / ram set my core V to 1.25 when I got it.. not knowing right away that the Vcore was way to high for nearly stock speeds: 2.8ghz, I was hitting max temps of 80c per core... I did finally figure out that my V core was way too high and turned it down. I now run at 2.8ghz with maxx temps hitting 75c on the stock cooler from intel.

as far as programs and temps go for me its like this:

linX
prime95
BFBC2

BFBC2 is the only game that gives me 55-60c temps on all 6 cores, most games (including crysis and metro 2033) they never go over 49!

Try a diff heatsink?
75c is high ,(40;s norm) gaming, unless you live on the equator.

manually set GPU Fan @ 100% for a day , and see if it is cooler.
This will insure heat is not radiated into case interior .
Slow gpu fan , (stock approx. 25%)cant expell enough heat as 100% does.

So what heat is internal to gpu just radiates to surrounding hardware.

My gpu heatsink isn't one that externaly exausts the air. It keeps pushing the same air back against the gpu.
