New to Nvidia cards, can I overclock this?

I haven't had an Nvidia card in ages, let alone a mobile one. Last time I overclocked a laptop, it was raising the speed of an Intel IGP. Can I overclock this Nvidia GPU?

Specs are:

Intel Core i7 2820QM
16GB 666mhz DDR3
Nvidia GeForce GT555M (590/900/1180)
500GB HD

If you can, it will be with afterburner (my favourite overclocking for GPU)

http://event.msi.com/vga/afterburner/download.htm

Be careful though, over clocking on a laptop can end badly, mainly with flames.

Wouldnt recommend overclocking a laptop, but I assume you have sufficient knowledge (:

Definitely can OC that GPU but don't expect exceptional gains. Also, do keep an eye out on your temps and stress test with a game instead of stuff like furmark/OCCT due to the higher than normal temps involved.

Up until now i've only specialised in undervolting laptops, never over clocking! I just got this thing and want to know what it can do. IIRC, the CPU is a mobile sandy bridge? Maybe I need to tinker with that?

You can tinker with that in the bios with the bus/ multiplier speed, but do your research first regarding laptops, i know overclocking my CPU in my desktop, from 3ghz to 4ghz raised idle temps 20c and load temps 50c.
And would advise baby steps each time, and then checking the temps, via realtemp, or speedfan (personally)

Cool, i'll give it a bash in a sec. I'm wondering whether 16GB RAM will put more stress on the CPU/mem controller limiting clock speed.

16gb ram !?! Lol, must be a expensive laptop, go easy on that thing ! I cant really comment on that, but You will be able to O/C it, how much, is up to you to find out , hopefully without it getting to hot!!

Yea, got to be real careful with it

I shall fiddle with it tomorrow morning, using it to stream Blu-Ray atm.

wat?

That GPU is soooo out of place in that computer... That machine should have like a GTX 485M or something to even the scales or something... >.<
