Zalman VF3000A on a HD 6950 Reference?

Thread Starter
Will it fit, I mean the PCB is same as the HD 6870 and the HD 6870 is listed on zalmans site, but what about the Vram and ****? Can anyone confirm it fits before I pull the trigger... I removed the TIM and replaced it with AS5 and managed to break the cooler.... It now hits 100C on CoD 4 100% Fan speed.

EDIT: I broke the orignal cooler, not a Zalman

Best if you email Zalman directly to ask that question.

That temp is not normal at all. Since you have a CF setup it's best to have the hot air vented out the case. Do you have a side fan?

When was the last time your cleaned the heatsink of the gpus?

No no... I ****ed up the cooler. Don't know how and dont really care. My second GPU, which is btw the top one, runs at like 50C, and last time I emailed Zalman their response was like: Check the supported card list.... So the problem is I ****ed up with the cooler. I was going to buy aftermarket coolers to these and this just made it faster.

The mounting holes are the same so it should fit. If you can get the cooler to fit along with the stock vrm cooling plate thing, it may work.
