I hate laptops period.

I can't see modifying laptops would take off? Hence why it already hasn't. Theres no room for customization apart from maybe colour and backlit keys

It's all about use-ability in terms of screen real-estate and functionality.

When they release a phone that can wirelessly transmit video data to a monitor, or that has an ultra-thin flip-out screen or holographic display..

And they can figure out a way to never need a keyboard..

Then they will replace Desktops.

But first they have to be more powerful than an E5300.

Now, how do you propose one would start a movement of such proportions?

idk but they charge alot! >.<

and proably wont be.
atm? because the parts are $250+ for a c2d cpu ( from what i can find )
and because carnt do much with them.

want a small comp? build a pico itx and mod a 12v battrey haha

or just mod a normal laptop. just the motherboards have no standed for the size ect. so building this motherboard in this case is next to impossiable.

Phone repair isn't that bad. That was the very first job I had when I started working for the phone company. We did component level repairs all the time until eventually all the OEM's forbid it. At one time though, all the major OEM's supported local shop repair of their equipment and most even had factory training programs to support these operations. I used to be both Nokia and Motorola certified.
