[RPS] Reddest Alert: C&C To Return - Page 3

I actually miss the bad graphics and the GOOD gameplay. Not to say good graphics is bad, it's just that it's totally overrated in RTS games. Look at SC1. Became the best with the almost WORST graphics, but it was fun. C&C just made everything too easy, even with Yuri's revenge. It just seems like nobody can break a France cannon fortress. I just hope they realize the importance of gameplay by now and focus on it.

C&C will always be my favorite games of all time, I think C&C3 wasnt bad, and enjoyed if very much, but they just destroyed the series completely it will take a lot to get my respect back! Good luck but I sure hope they can pull this one out I miss the old days
+1 rep. Exactly my thoughts.

The important thing to know is that C&C4 was never meant to be a true Tiberium universe canonical game, but rather an experiment in online play. It originally started as out an Asian market online-only version of C&C 3. At some point the company executives decided it made the most business sense to add a single player campaign, call it C&C4, and put it in a box. The team of course protested this change in direction but the decision stood. The team did what they could to make a good game given the realities inside EA, but ultimately it was the product of a dysfunctional corporate culture.

given what happened with C&C4 i'm not certain i'll be buying this at release or any time soon. and i imported C&C3 from Singapore on a journey halfway around the world, and played the living daylights out of that game.

Blah barf. I'm afraid the gaming industry as a whole is too concerned about making money now, or at least the upper management is anyway. They've started to lose the creative side of games in favor of making more money. Everything has to be edgy, quick, and flashy. Sins of a Solar Empire is the last RTS I really enjoyed simply because I didn't feel rushed to build build build to keep from dying immediately. Slow, complex base building is a thing of the past now.

The thing about that is, sitting there building a base for a long period of time isn't interesting, because, there is no action so to speak. I find Blizzard got it right with BW/SCII, because, you have several options which include turtling up and building your base as T/P and you can also do some harass in the game if you like that

I loved RA2, hoping that this stays faithful to the original

Red Alert 2 and Generals were the best CnC games as far as i'm concerned. CnC3 was not as good as i expected, Red Alert 3 was down right laughable, and CnC4 was garbage.

Hopefully EA will be more concerned with the quality of CnC games instead of popping a new one out ever year.

Well I'm going to be optimistic and say this. I have high hopes that this new studio would at least do a better CNC than CNC4
