For air cooling on a budget, pick up the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus.

My lawd, that Noctua is so beautiful, but soooo expensive....

yes she is a beauteY
is you want cheaper, go with zalman performa, out of the box it performs the same as noctua, it is also smaller and will fit into any case, only withdrawal is that it makes more noise because of the louder fan

Different strokes I guess! I went with the Silver Arrow in the end, because I think it looks nicer.
You can't go wrong with either one anyway, as they are within 1 degree of each other on various reviews.

It is expensive, but think about how far you'll be able to push your CPU with it! You'll pretty much be buying a new processor for ~$80.00

I also agree that you should pick up an aftermarket cooler. Think of it as a reliability upgrade that also makes your case quieter.

No need replacing the CPU/MB yet, as BD is on the horizon (exactly why I went for AM2+ instead of AM3).

As for the rest, how content are you with your existing peripherals? A second monitor, new kb/mouse combo, G13 gamepad, etc. can make an otherwise good setup great.

Ok, so I like the Noctua, but I have concerns about its size. I took a picture of my desktop to give you an idea of the clearances with the stock cooler.

Note that the case fans in the picture are 140mm.

Do you think it will fit?

We also have some pretty sick games coming out next month that can suck up a pretty penny.

Homefront, Deus Ex, IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover, Portal 2, Duke Nukem

My concern would be the heatsink below your CPU and the RAM to the right. Same issue I have with my M2N32 motherboard. I'm going with a Venomous-X which should clear the heatsink and my RAM.

as others have suggested, Your best upgrade at the mo would be a CPU cooler, noctua d14, prolimatech megahalem, corsair h70 amongst the best top air coolers within your budget.

not the dimensions of the cpu cooler above, measure your space inside your case.

Use this RAM compatibility list to see if it will clear your sticks.

If you want a cheaper cooler, you can always check out the Mugen 2!
It might take 2 people to mount it on though, but so far for me, it does its job pretty well! You can also add a second fan to it to make a push/pull type of thing.
