as silent said the h70 is also great and if you can't fit in a noctua it will surely go as it is actually water cooling and you only place the cpu block on the cpu, but then you do have to find place for the radiator
the noctua has on their page motherboard compatibility list, i will check now to see if yours is there

edit:

AM2+ AsusM3N78-AMCooler extends over all RAM slots, please check RAM compatibility

edit2:
forgot which mbo did you say you have the first one or this one

AM2+ AsusM4A78-AMCooler extends over all RAM slots, please check RAM compatibility

so the question now is are you using tall heatspreader ram, other things aren't obstructing the path for it

No need replacing the CPU/MB yet, as BD is on the horizon (exactly why I went for AM2+ instead of AM3).

As for the rest, how content are you with your existing peripherals? A second monitor, new kb/mouse combo, G13 gamepad, etc. can make an otherwise good setup great.
Well, my Razer Deathadder just bit the dust last week (*tear*) so I'm using a Logitech LX3 as a temporary replacement...I love my ABS M1 mechanical KB, so I'm not likely to replace that for a while, and even then, it will be another mechanical

I've dabbled in getting a joystick but I really don't think I fly enough to justify the cost of a good one.

Also, any thoughts on the Cooler Master V6/8/10? I love cars so anything that reminds me of one is good in my book

Well, if you don't feel like buying a new CPU cooler, you can always buy another mouse since you are using a cheap mouse...
Or spend the $200 on a nice sound card and headset/speakers.

It's your choice!

as far as mice/mouse is concerned i would recommend gigabyte ghost m8000x, or just getting deathadder again if you are used to it and don't want to change

The ram is Patriot Extreme Performance DDR2-800, which has normally-sized heatspreaders.
