sometimes software overclocking in windows can corrupt files. In this case it did so like the post up top of me says, boot to the windows CD and recover with recovery console

It is impossible to boot from a cd. Like I told u guys it doesn't work any more. It is very unlikely that some file are corrupted as I defrag the drive everyday and I run check disk everyday.

Read what I wrote above dude.

If you are not making it to Windows (and, obviously, you are not), then NO overclock is being applied. This problem you have is NOT being caused by your overclock, by ntune, or rivatuner or any other piece of software.

IOW, the OC ... is NOT the problem right at this moment, because you have no OC going on.

The issue is that the files on your hard drive that tell your motherboard WHERE to find Windows so it can be booted ... have been corrupted somehow. This MAY have been caused by the crash that was happened due to the overclock ... but your card is not going to be OC'd until you actually get into Windows again, and one of the OC'ing apps starts running.

You can deal w/the OC problem once you get to into Windows. For right now, you need to get your OS FOUND.

Did you do what I told you? Go into your CMOS (aka Bios settings) and make the CD/DVD the first device to boot from, and try to boot from teh Windows Disc.

If you literally cannot boot from a Windows CD (assuming that you have any idea whatsoever how to do what I'm explaining to you), then your computer is toast. Well, your IDE controller is toast, and since that's built into the Mobo, your motherboard is basically toast unless you buy like a PCI IDE controller to run your HD's and DVD drive.

The only time I get "missing OS" is when I crash and my bios resets. I have to go back in and turn raid back on since I'm using Raid with my HDD's.

How do I know whether my pc is toasted or not? If not will it work by removing the battery of the CMOS. And why cant i use The internal onboard gpu when I try to use the monitor does not come on.

Lets start over.

1. Can you get into the bios?
2. You have to turn on the onboard gpu within the bios.
3. They are telling you that once you're in the bios to set your disc drive as the first thing the bios boots from. Save and exit. When the windows disc is in the disc drive and your pc restarts, it should automatically start up the windows disc as if your installing windows. After it does it's thing it should give you some options. Install, blah, blah, and recovery.

For now, just leave the cmos battery out. Do not replace it. It takes time for capacitors to fully drain. Also unplug your pc from the wall. Let it sit for a good 20 minutes or so. Then lets start over.

So you have gone into the bios, told it to start from CD first, put in your windows CD, and watched the boot so that if it said "Press any key to boot from CD" you do that?

Are you trying to boot the CD using the IGP or the 8500 GT?
