Logitech G500

I've pretty much made up my mind on which mouse to be, and I landed on the G500. But I'd like to know your issues with it.

I have. Absolutely zero issues. It's like a G5, but with more buttons and a better scrollwheel.

I love mine. After a six mouse buy/return fest at Best Buy, I settled on the G500 as well. like the sculpted shape and overall feel/weight of the mouse. I'm more of a claw grip user, so my fingers arch a bit more sharply than the contour of the mouse. On that note, because of the way I grip mice, I found the G500 a better fit than say a Razer Imperator, Mamba, or R.A.T. 7.

You won't be disappointed. Awesome mouse.

Well, if you remove all the weights it is a good deal easier/lighter to move around. I ended up putting three of the lighter weights in my G500. But I agree with you in that the 7's base was rather heavy.

My only issue is you can't map the middle button (on the left hand side between the forward and back buttons) to a game function. You have to assign it a keystroke and then map that key to the game function you want the button to be used for.

I like light mice. Always have. The G500 is conveniently very light but can also be very heavy if you use all of the weights.

My only problem is that there is no Logitech software for Linux (Ubuntu specifically). This is only an issue because without the software the G500 maxes at 2000dpi, and I need higher dpi for software I'm using on my Linux setup. That being said, the G500 has onboard memory, so it's possible once configured in Windows, it can be switched to Linux with settings intact. I haven't been able to try this yet because the mouse as I bought it (used) had a broken middle mouse button so I sent it off for RMA. I've since bought a second one (it's that good) that'll arrive a week or so before the RMA goes through.

G500.
