linux on ps3 was a major selling point for me, at one point i considered running it as a server.

What about the 45mln PS3's already sold? Do they expect them to go out and buy a new PS3?

Perhaps they should offer a trade-in program so that current PS3 owners can get a new one if they wanted.

Oh lord, it's the PSP-3000 All over again.

Which basically means that hackers will find a new way to hack this when it's released...

I think this is in response to the new "jailbreak" that can downgrade any current PS3 firmware. In fact, they say you can downgrade any current and future firmware because of it. They basically screwed any future releases that Sony plans to do. So what, you can't use PSN, but the PS3 is easier to hack than a 360. lol I don't really for see this going well, as they will probably have a new exploit found with the new design that wasn't in the old design. That's the problem creating a new hardware design, if you get an exploit it's permanent.

I don't even know why some of these "jailbreak" ps3s are so butthurt? I own a slim, not jailbreaked and pretty content with the psone classics and psn store. Sony hasn't treated ME wrong.

yay 300 gb of useless space cause you cant put **** on it that you really want lol

edit: the more sony fights the more they motivate hackers to break their stuff... its like throwing them a challenge saying it hack proof lol
