Getting a virus from online chatting?
I wasn't aware this was 1998 and we were all still using AIM!

I will admit that AVG isn't all that bad, but it's such a fatty when it comes to resources.
I would have gone with the sleeker MSE suite....

omg omg omg!
my anti virus is going to run out in 65 days.
MUST BUY AMD OVER INTEL!

Not.

AVG BLOWS & everyone KNOWS it!

This is why I cringe every time I hear someone recommend it, or I see a tech install it...

I know the customer/person will be back with more viruses..

It is not effective, doesn't accurately read viruses (meaning it spits out a lot of False Positives), and generally is more or less worthless in many cases!

I'll pass, Microsoft Security Essentials / Avira / Avast is what people should use, I like Avira the most, have been using it for years now, it's great...

Why would AMD do this? It's like adding bloatware no? I just hate it when MFGs preinstall Norton or McAfee, now we have AVG to contend with...

MEH!

I think what comes with MS is fair enough. I feel sorry for those who get viruses based on inexperience. You have to start somewhere unfortuantely.

You can get a virus through online chatting...msn, facebook, etc. All it requires is a link to the said virus/site.

I have tried AVG, Avast, Avira, MSE, and other recommended AV solutions.

MSE wins. If you have a valid version of windows, it should be the most obvious choice. It's light, unintrusive, and very effective. I see MSE as a huge accomplishment for MS. Almost as big as Win7.
