[XB] AMD to Give Free Antivirus with Boxed Processors. - Page 3

Oh god no not AVG. Anything but AVG. I might have to remove even more AVG in the future. Damn them, extending my crusade against bad antivirus programs.

Meh, AVG sucks. I use Nod32, IMO its a bit better than MSE, but if you dont wanna pay the extra money for an AV and already have a valid, purchased Windows, MSE is the best choice.

Meh. AVG is too bloated, and MSE is too generic. Avast ftw.

Until an Avast update breaks your OS.....

That's what happened to me anyway. Didn't have a single issue in 4 years until that though. This was recently with Win7 64.

It happened to me, too, but only on one of four Win 7 machines I own. Avast is still a great choice, but I run MSE on everything nowadays. It's quite good, extremely lightweight, and does not require a once-a-year email to re-register.

Now this is how you do it, since AVG is supposedly better than McAfee....

This is a great plus

You know what AMD should do, sell business class processors that have an extra little core/thread dedicated to AV.

Yeah, it only took me about 20 minutes to figure out how to fix it (safe mode, uninstall avast) but I still lost a lot of trust for avast after that.

MSE wins. If you have a valid version of windows, it should be the most obvious choice. It's light, unintrusive, and very effective. I see MSE as a huge accomplishment for MS. Almost as big as Win7.
This so much, I used to use AVG, was terrible.
