Mice for newbie?

Thread Starter
Hi, I'm new to PC Gaming, I as just going to use my Xbox controller, but I was told I'd be better of with a mouse. Can anyone recommendany mice that are £40 or below, and are easy to use for someone who is used to an xbox controler?

Also should I buy an external keyboard for my M11X or will the one on the m11X do?

I have the Logitech G5 and love it, however I believe it is no longer in production.
This could be considered the new version of it.
I highly recommend it!

The Razer Deathadder or Logitech G500 are my recommendations.

Welcome to the forums.

First of all, you need to figure out (a best guess) as to how you'll hold the mouse when you're gaming. There are generally three different ways you can hold a mouse, and each has different mice specialized for that position.

Read through this article regarding mouse position (palm, grip, fingertip), and let us know how you hold the mouse (or a best guess). The most common style is the palm grip, which the Razer Deathadder, Logitech G500, and Logitech MX518 are best for. Note you can use more than one grip style on the same mouse.

http://www2.razerzone.com/MouseGuide/html/palmgrip.php

I for example tend to use a combination of a palm grip and a claw grip. I have a Razer Deathadder, and it's good. I just bought a Logitech G500 though, and it's hands down the most comfortable mouse I've ever used.

Gonna go with either the Logitech G500 or MX518, as I havea palm grip. Most likely the G500 though. Thanks for all the help guys.

Regarding the keyboard question, try your notebook's keyboard first. You may very well find it does the job just fine. In my experience, a quality mouse is much more important than a quality keyboard. Surprising sometimes that people still insist on spending $100+ on a keyboard.
