I recommend the MX518, its what I have used for awhile now and I have no regrets. It fits my hand nicely, smooth and precise for games.
Money drainer.

I second the MX518 from Logitech. Its the right price, and it works great. Using it right now.

I second this, buy a Xai and you will never need another mouse. Don't forget a mouse pad so you don't wear out your mouse feet. The Xai is the same price as the G500 but far better build quality and value for your money.

The MX518 is overrated and chances are you will never see the money from that mail in rebate.

MX518 is not a good starting mouse, or a good mouse at all due to its absurd prediction and acceleration issues which can't be disabled.

If you absolutely must get a Logitech mouse then at least get a G500.

I've heard of the 518's prediction issues, but you're one of few I've seen so far actually suggesting against it. Is it really that bad? Link to a video perhaps?

THe mx518 doesn't have pos or neg acceleration issues. And as far as prediction, yea it has it but people make too big of deal about prediction. I've seen many top cs players dominate using mice with prediction. I promise someone thats buying their first gaming mouse won't feel a difference if a mouse has prediction or not.
