I am going all out!!! I am considering getting the Asus P6X58D Premium ($289.99) but I do not know if I should get the Intel Core i7-960 3.2GHz ($329.99) or the Intel Core i7-875K Quad-Core 2.93GHz ($359.99) I wonder if I can still use all of the rest of my parts until I get some extra money to get myself a pair of VisionTek - Radeon HD 6950 2GB GDDR5 ($239.99 EA) I forgot I had a some best buy cards laying around (About $180) Any opinions please...

I think you should be buying a i7-2600K instead, it outperforms any i7-900 quad core, and goes toe to toe with the hexa-core i7-970/980X/990X.
All you need to do is to wait a little more and buy a P67 Board with NF200.

That is and awesome chip Matroska, I just read the specs, but the only problem is that best buy does not carry the Intel I7-2600K and it most likely it will be more expensive than either the I7-960 & I7-875k. My total budget is around $600 and I still have to deal with the sales tax. The highest best buy have is the Intel I7-980X but these guys want $1049.00 plus tax and that just blows my budget out of the sky, so the next best ones available are Intel's I7-960 & I7-875k. I know that I can buy them somewhere else buy I have a lot of gift cards coming and that is the only place I can use them. That is why I only have Intel's I7-960 & I7-875k to choose from. Which of them is the best and also you keep mentioning to wait for a p67 board with NF200. Can you elaborate more on that.

Thank you,

Ivanopochtli

the i7-2600K was launched at about $350, way cheaper than a 990X and it performs toe to toe with it. There aren't any of these chips for sale at the moment due to the chipset bug present in all of the LGA1155 boards, but i don't believe that when boards are ready to hit the shelves again the chip cost won't be higher that the launch price, that's why i keep talking about it

The P67 boards bundled with the NF200 chip will allow you to run CF/SLI beyond the limit of 16 pci-e lanes of the intel chip. You can also find P67 based boards that offer you x8/x8 links, that aren't bad at all, but that will hurt you a little if one day you buy 2 high-end GPU, like 2 GTX570 or 2 HD6970, that will see their performance cut back by x8 links. These boards won't be that much expensive than the P67 better ones, so why not buying one of those with the NF200?
$290 should to buy one of those boards, and the $330 that you are planning on spend on a i7-960 would be better spent if you buy an i7-2600K for a similar price, or a i5-2500K, wich outperforms the i7-960, for even less money, with the bonus of the unlocked multiplier.

Awesome information Matroska, it is just too bad that www.bestbuy.com do not carry any of these Intel chips. Since most of my budget will come from best buy gift cards (won them in a raffle in December) The million dollar question is: out of the two chip sets that I have previously mentioned (Intel's I7-960 & I7-875) which one would be the best one? since it will be free anyways!!!!!!!!

I would choose the i7-875K because of its unlocked multiplier.

Yes you helped lots my friend. Thanxs for the advice. I'll call best buy if they are gonna get the I7-2600k from the comparason charts, it makes a huge difference. I'll be a bit more patient and wait a little longer. Once again thank you and will send you some pics later on of my system once it has been revived again.

Hey Matroska, I have been eyeballing the ASUS Sabertooth P67 B3 TUF edition motherboard, what is your opinion on that board?. I just bought the intel i7 2600k. Just waiting for some extra money for friday so I can buy the board.

Seems like a pretty solid board to me, and it looks awesome!!

If you intend to Crossfire or SLI more than 2 Graphics cards in the future you should also look at this one

But if 2 cards is the max you'll have, or at least plan to, the sabertooth is a great board!
