hmmmm just found out it doesn't have MP (PVP)

I will be staying away from this one then - I already preordered crysis 2 until BF3 comes out

Played the demo on my 360 and I was super impressed with the graphics... and I though that the 360's days where numbered (if I had to go by all I read on the forums)... seems there is still some tapping of the console to be done

I didn't really like the game though... but it was pretty... and bloody...

I just might have to buy this game!

How is this 'nothing special' when even if you hate the game you can't admit that special AKA unique is exactly what it is, undoubtedly. Games with 'real guns' and 'real soldiers' are nothing special... go join the army. And saying this is full of 'randomness' is kind of ridiculous since the game clearly has a story explaining things. It's not an endless arena with no cut-scenes for christ sake.

Oh and a 9 is a great rating, especially for a new IP such as this.

Anyway played the demo on PS3, then pre-ordered it for PC only to find out it doesn't come out til the 24th where i ordered... so i'm (im)patiently waiting til Thursday to play. Until then keep the screens coming boys, they look GREAT! (of course they aren't Crysis or Metro 2033's level... that's besides the point. For 1 the game runs in DX9 and for 2 it's artistically stunning, and not as rooted in reality as either one of those games).

Finally someone gets it . I am most likely getting it ( can't decide between this and pre ordering Crysis 2 for myself XD ). If i get this we should do some Co Op

Just got done playing the SP for the past hour and I think the game sucks. I know I will get flamed for not giving it more of a chance, but I literally could not stand to play the game any more. The graphics are Doom3 era at best. You do not even have to look closely at the characters and environment to see that everything is mostly made up of very flat surfaces with images of textures on it, like in Counter-Strike (although I hate to compare such a classic with this garbage). Obviously a console port and a pretty crappy one at that.

The only thing that is random is the direction the story goes in. The rest is as linear as a rail shooter. And throwing in a hundred f-bombs, a-holes, and other creative language only serves to show how desperate the developers were to be edgy. The game is as predictable as a early-90's rail shooter in that it even tells you what to kick, what to use, where to go, etc. There is some parts that are like 5 seconds of player movement between 2 minute cut scenes, over and over. And why can I not tailor the controls to my own liking? The "use" button is by default the R key as well as reloading. I could change the reload bind, but not the "use" bind. What is with that? And I guess the ability to jump doesn't hold any weight either. I guess making the player motion 3-dimensional would have been far too much coding for these horrible developers to be bothered with.

Double thumbs-down. Way down.

Thanks for your opinion. I personally don't think you should or would get flamed for having an opinion of a game in which you've actually played. It's the guys who haven't even played the game, nevertheless the flippin demo, who think their opinions should carry some form of weight or be heard that's flammable.

Any who, I have the game coming in from Newegg. It's only 49 there so I'm looking forward to playing something different and solo, despite it possibly not living up to expectations. I did enjoy the "art of killing" type challenge in the demo, so there should be some degree of fun for me....I hope.

Thanks again for your outlook.

Saying I don't quite see your argument would be a huge understatement. Why do you assume that unique is automatically a positive feature? There is nothing that specifically makes the word unique synonymous with special. Moreover 'go join the army'??? Joining the army isn't playing a game so lets keep things in context. Thirdly what exactly makes a game with a story line exempt from randomness. Even the reviews of Bulletstorm have implied this so it's in no way ridiculous.

Anyway, why did they take the co-op out! Surely if you are expected to pay money for it, then you can be the one to decide how you play it.

I've played for about 2-3 hours and then I simply uninstalled it. This game didn't feel like anything special. If you've played Gears of War or any modern CoD then you don't really need to play this.

Things I didn't like:

Graphics from around 2007 - 2008.
Small field of view that can't be adjusted.
The game runs in letterbox mode for any resolution that's not in 16:9 format.
Doesn't support 5.1 surround.
Sounds in general are bland and uninspired.
The game's story is weak and all the characters are retarded.
Excessive use of profanities and blood up to the point where it gets annoying.
Level design is so and so: some areas are neat while others look like they've been directly copied from Gears of War or Unreal Tournament 3.
Limited freedom: invisible walls are everywhere and you can't fall of ledges, not even when you're supposed to go down (you have to press a button to jump down).
Lots of quick time events, many of which consist of only holding down a button so you can look at an "interesting" object the game deems necessary. You get points for it too.
As for the "kill with skill" system: sure, it's fun for a while, but gets old fast, and for being the focus of the game it's a bit limited in scope. Most of the kills that you can perform in this game you can also perform in plenty other games with no problem. It's just that here you earn points.
Otherwise you can be just as creative in killing things in Crysis or even Half-Life 2 (basically any game that has a physics engine integrated).
