Another 'Help with headphones' Thread

Thread Starter
Hey, I'm looking to purchase some headphones in the coming months. Not quite sure what my exact budget will be so lets say $200 is the absolute max. I'd rather pay more and them last for years then have to replace them in 6 months like all the buds I own.

They will be used pretty equally for gaming and music, though I'll also use them for youtube browsing and some movies.

Mainly listen to metal and rock, though some dubstep has been peeking its head in.

I live in a very small room, by myself though so it can be open or closed back. Though comfort is important because I can see myself having them on for 5+ hours at a time.

Hoping I've provided all the information to help! Thanks!

Seems like you missed this guide.
[OCNHC] Guide to Gaming Headphones\\Headsets.

& doesn't seem like you took a peak at the other hundreds of threads that are created saying the same thing. Why not take a look in some of them. You will probably end up finding your answer since this question has been beaten to death.

Or I read the guide, looked at signature sounds didn't see metal, and thought that asking couldn't hurt.

Thanks for the help I suppose.

I JUST went through this earlier this week for my own first set of headphones so i will show you some of the stuff that I came across and also was recomended by a DJ friend of mine for "entry level"

One of OCN's referred headphone guides
http://www.overclock.net/sound-cards...-headsets.html

I wound up choosing these as the price was good and they are recommended over and over it seems (a700's)

A700's

the open version AD700

I also looked at sennheiser and got equal good response to the audio technica,

Im not an expert by far (and still waiting on my shipment lol) so all i can do is pass on the info that i got, hope it helps a little.
