Thread Starter
Does anyone have a review on what the performance impact of 200mhz will be for this chip or any i7 chip?? Thanks.

Too many variables could define what a 200MHz change equates to.

The best source I know of would be this

A nice lot of data from a lot of chips at different clocks, you can see fair amounts of variance from one chip to another at the same clocks, but you can see trending.

I found for example my i7 produced lower GFlops at 4.3 than 4.2 due to slower RAM timings.

In games, 4.0 to 4.2, u see no difference.
i am using here 3.8, and i don't pretend to go further, cause i know the difference on the performance won't worth the higher degrees.

Pretty much boils down to this. Without some serious water cooling 4-4.2 is probably as far as you should go.
