460 sli vs 580 - Page 6

is it just me, or are the minimum frames higher on 2 460s than the 580?

I really dont understand why people say they are higher on the 580, if the card can run it, it can run it. Theres no reason for the minimum frames to be lower unless the aa and resolution exceed the 1GB ram or something. Its not like they are cars and we have torque to take into account.

Edit: I was doing alot of research on resolutions before buying my tv, and its commonly disscussed by the experts (infact its not anymore because its now widely known) that there is virtually no difference between 720p and 1080p, untill you move up to a 40 inch tv where there really needs to be more pixels to retain the image quality. Your really not gaining much going beyond 1080, your eyes just cant see the extra detail, and especially on a small screen (sub 40 inch)

Tv's and monitors are completely different. you will will see the difference on a monitor when veiwing 720p to 1080p
And i have a 42" 1080p tv right beside my computer, and i hate using it for my computer its not the same... the tv is calibrated for tv signal and other tv device, not to mention the refresh rate is worse, same with motion blur, (and thats with ANY tv)

Thats why i bought my 30" Ips @2560x1600 it puts tvs to shame, i wish i could show you the deference in person, but don't compare monitors to tv

Lol plasma are a waste, they look amazing for the first year or two then they lose that crisp color clarity, and your always worried about burn ins,and now alot of the tv stations have there channel logo in the bottom right of the screen. thats why i bought my lcd (led was brand new and expensive when i bougt my tv)

But if you already have the tv and dont have the money for a 30" its better then having nothing, me personally i liked my 21'5" 1920x1080 monitor then my 42" lcd 1080p tv

na they dont degrade like that any more, and even with degredation lcds are horrible in comparison, i cant even watch them anymore the backlight does my head in. if your watching a dark scene its got this annoyin glow. your not supposed to watch em fully bright anyhow! the colours are all wrong. my tv burns my eyes out if i set it to dymanic lol dynamic is supposd to be used if the room is very brignt or theres a glare on the screen. also you get zero motion blur. I bought a nice sony lcd a while back, i decided on it over the other competeing tv which was the panasonic, U had to send it back the blur was sooo bad in dark scenes too, it was horrible. I told amazon it must have been defective and luckily got my money back. since then ive noticed my girlfriends samsung does the same thing! i eventially went with the panasonic, except i have the new version now with the same panel that last seasons pioneer kuros had, £3000 worth of tv. i didnt pay anywhere near that for my pany but its awesome.

Im not a big fan of samsung, but my toshiba doesn't seem to have motion blur, and when i got my tv i set all the settings to my liking so ya, and i never knew they fixed up the plasma's but for the price lcd/led is more bang for your buck, and no burn in worrys

This is only applicable for sitting far from the screen. Something a computer user doesn't do.
