Case Options

Hey everyone, I have a question for you knowledgeable ones. I built a liquid cooled rig in an acrylic case, you might remember this crazy looking blue one:

So to be honest, I'm started to get tired of the noise. I spent good money on liquid cooling to have a relatively silent computer, but a combination of the loud LED fans and the acrylic housing don't go together that well. I want to rebuild my computer, basically just new fans and a new case. I think gentle typhoons are the best quiet/performance fans if I'm right (give me other recommendations as well). I just need to know what are the best cases for quiet running regardless of size or cost.

My radiator is an XSPC RX360

Thanks!

Looks impressive!

Does anyone here have any input about noise levels on this case with liquid cooling?

It's a steel case, you're not going to get any vibrations. I have 6 AP-14's running and I can barely hear them. Out of all the noise in my system the loudest thing is my 655B pump. My case is aluminum so I get vibration where the pump is mounted. The 800D is a steel case so it's less prone to vibrations but then it's also heavier. I like the 800D design though. If you're so worried about noise you should just get some noise dampening material and line the inside of the case with it. But I doubt you would need to do that with Gentle Typhoons and a steel case.

As an 800D owner, I have to say I love it. Best case I've ever had and I don't see myself upgrading anytime soon.

Great news!

Where would you mount an RX360 if you were me?

Also, assuming you got typhoons, 1850 or 1450rpm?

I mounted my RX480 in the top of the case. I had do some slight modifications, but it fits!

I would get 1450 RPM gentletyphoons and mount the radiator in the top of the case, with the fans pushing air out through the top.
