sell 480 and get 570? - Page 2

2x480 is better then 2x570... if u ever want to look at Surround or 3d...

because of the extra VRAM
just do a ghetto cooling mod on the gtx 480 and your good to go
post #13 of 22
the 480 is clock for clock faster than the 570, but with that said the difference is negligible.

Thread Starter
honestly the only reason im considering this, is because i want to sli my cards, but the 480 sli'd has heat issues. even though i have AMAZING cooling in my case.

I cant find a dual slot cooler for the 480. any suggestions?

the best dual slot cooler out is the vapor chamber on the 5xx range....

sadly you can't get that type of thing by itself...

No dual slot cooler is better then the stock 480 cooler that you can buy....

That is the reason i bought the motherboard that i did..

because of the 3slot spacing in between the PCI-E slots..

My reference stock cooled Zotac GTX480 never hits 85C in games,3DMark 11 etc and it's OC'd @ 850/1025MHz w/ 1075mV..

Set up a custom fan profile for lower temps..(my hits ~80%)..

CHEERS..

Keep your card as others have mentioned it isnt going to be a big enough gain to justify the new cost. Wait until the 600 series comes out before you upgrade.
