Phenom 2 965 too hot. - Page 7

Dude you are asking why your temps are high with the stock cooler? The stock cooler sucks man!

I had my processor at the stock speed of 2.8 GHZ and running prime 95 with the stock cooling I got up to 56 degrees really fast! I shut it off immediately I wasn't even going to see how hot it would go 56 is to high for my comfort.

Then I got the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus cooler and the highest I have overclocked my processor so far was 3.57 GHZ which is over a 25% overclock and running prime 95 with the new heatsink/fan my max temp is 46 degrees.

So I get 10 degrees cooler at over 25% faster speeds just by switching from the stock cooling to Cooler Master Hyper 212 plus.

If you want lower temps start there.

What is that feature?

Voltages are all stock, set to automatic in bios.

My heat is strange one, because normally when people have this issue, they run hot both idle and load. I run cool on idle and it doubles in temp under load.

Idle:

Load:

One thing to note is that the CPU cooler is running at the same RPM.

you can try undervolting a bit

it's a stock cooler, it's going to run hot. and no there are plenty of people who have heat problems with nice cool idle temps
