i never actually tried it properly it took like a week for me to to get it to even start up then i gave up because i found out that it wouldnt work on my pc. you should go on here http://pcsx2.net/ then click on guide and it should help you and i seen your rig in the signature box and it should just about work for you if you can get it going. btw its still in the beta stage after 2 years of work and the guy that made it got married and has got a job so he wont be developing it anymore but someone will probably carry on developing it
and when you do get it working it will make the games incredibly glitchy because no computer in the world has got the ps2 emotion chip built in so your best bet would be to just buy a ps2 and an old tv
Also, whether or not an emulator works or not depends highly on the game, and PC. I've played Kingdom Hearts front to back with no problems, not even FPS. But, I played some games that would barely launch before something messed up.
And lets just keep this on the legal side of emulating. Yes, it can be legal, if you copy your own bios and just run your own games through either making an ISO from them or just running them in the CD drive.
EDIT: Not PSX exclusive, by the looks of it, but not for the PS2 either. I believe PCSX2 does not have backwards compatibility, though.
