Did I make a good purchase?

Thread Starter
Hey there,

Few weeks ago, a local store had on offer a Sapphire HD6970 2Gb for 270€ (Brand new), and decided to buy it.

I'm not planning to Crossfire it next month.

But I'm wondering, was it a good buy? Or should I have gone for GTX570?

well they both seem to have there ups and downs so far reading posts in the last few weeks on this forum...
the 6970 being it be problems with drivers/low fps issues??
and the 570 being supposedly being prone to blowing up the vrms during higher overclocking/ and the fact that its hard to bother with a 570 when 560/580 is much better either way whether it be price/performance or performance for a price

I am happy with my HD6970's performance, it eats any game right now.

But... my friends keep telling me I should have gone GTX570, so I don't know, kinda makes me feel sad everyone says go 570...

I've had no driver issues whatsoever neither low fps issues?

I always say "to hell with my friends" (thats if my choice does what I need it do and more) if the 6970 does what you want and more why even worry about it?

EDIT: and about the driver issues/low fps issues I am not saying it is gonna happen to you.. just said Ive seen a few posts about it... dont get it out of proportion

6970 is ATI's top card right now (excluding 5970 ) and the 570 is nvidia's second top
Just be happy with what you have got and sell me your other 6970

You've answered the question yourself. You are happy with it, therefore a good purchase, don't let fanboys ruin it for you.

i personally love the 6970 its a great card and there is many senerios where it crushes the 570 and visa-versa. Personally i love the 6970 just didnt like the cost at the time when i bought my 2 6950's. All and all it comes down to if u like it and screw ur friends lol
