Game Cut Scenes (What is it called?)

Thread Starter
Hey Guys. I have the Samsung 2770HD monitor.

I Don't know what to call it but every time when i play a game for example:

Mafia 2, Dragon Age Origins, Crysis 2. Whenever i go into "Cut Scenes" I seem to have this sort of i dunno what it's called, Ghosting effect? It's not lag because my Frames are fine.

I have ATI Radeon 5870 using 1920x1080

Anyway to reduce this effect? I do consider my monitor a pretty good one.

FMV's, try turning on V-Sync it's probably screen tearing. If you can't turn on V-Sync inside the game itself then try forcing it in the Catalyst Control Center.

Yeah, it's quite possibly ghosting. If you don't notice it during game play, try sweeping motions in areas with bright and dark spots.

If it's visible during neither that, or during watching a streaming movie, or other sources of video, then I'm fresh out of ideas.

The input lag should not be that bad, it's actually better than my screen but of course the OP's screen is a TN screen so I do expect it to be better. It only has 23 milliseconds of lag time. My screen measurement VS a true 120Hz panel I measured a lag time of 32 milliseconds and testing at TFT Central they get 38 milliseconds for my panel. So 23 ms is way better than mine but I don't have any ghosting problems with my panel.

http://www.prad.de/en/monitore/revie...art10.html#Lag

only 23 ms lag time, that's 1-2 fps loss which is not bad for a large screen. My screen is probably closer to 2-3 fps loss. Check the Video playback settings in CCC and play with those functions to see if it makes any difference. Could also be possible that playback of videos could be conflicting because you have too many codecs installed with things like KLite codec pack. Also try toggling VSync on and off to see if there is a difference.

I think it might be screen tearing because what i would see is like a Ripple/wave effect across my screen. I forced v-sync and it seems to have fixed it. I restated the crysis 2 campaign and i didn't see any of the tearing.
