If I don't do anything on my phone, it'll be on 60% when i go to bed. But that, again, is partly because i ALWAYS have WiFi on, and live in an area with bad cell coverage, so it's always searching (kills battery). I've left my phone sit with Wifi off in a full 3G spot all day and it had 80% left.

Check by going to Settings > Applications > Running Services. But they typically don't use much battery, if any. If you wanna know what's using your battery, go to settings > about phone > battery use.

Thanks. Just checked, here's what I have:

8hr 30min since unplugged - now sitting at 60% charge.
Display: 49% (on auto, uses about 35% brightness in my office)
Phone idle: 33%
Cell standby: 15%
wi-fi: 4%
voice call: 2%

Wifi was on for 1.5hrs, then off after I left the house in the morning. The phone has sat mostly at idle today, though I did install a new calendar widget and fiddled with it for a bit.

Cell standby - apparently didn't have signal for 20% of the time. My building does tend to block signal pretty well, and I have to go outside to make calls.

i went with the inspire from amazon as an upgrade for 69.99 and am kicking myself in the ass, love the phone but the battery life is completely usess.

i'm emailing amazon to see if they are willing to let me make an exchange for the difference of cost on the upgrade price of the atrix for 149.99.

i hope they say yes.

and i am pretty much way to daft with smartphones (this is my first one unless you consider a nokia n75 from a few years back a smart phone, horrible battery there too...) so i'm not sure i will be doing any rooting or modding since with hours of research i have no idea how to on the inspire.

couldnt find any info on a return/exchange policy from amazon wireless on the website so we shall see...

My Atrix is perfect on batteries. I use it to text, email, etc. I charge it every other day and its fine. Great phone. Better than my old pos iPhone 4.

Guys, quick question on the Atrix internal storage size.

I'm showing 1.4gb available for application storage, and total of 10.71gb for internal phone storage. I thought the Atrix came w/ 16gb internal storage?

Oh one more thing. I did a factory reset of my phone around 1:30pm today. Before battery was showing 70% and after was 90% ***? Phone was not charged during any period.

My observations have matched everything I've read so far. If you have some super secret that's increasing your battery life on the Inspire that much, then please share. The rest of the world would love to know. (Me included! )
regardless of the display you forget to mention the Atrix has to power a dual core processor, the reason the phone has a 1930mAh battery.

I had the Atrix and liked it, got great battery, similar to what you were experiencing.

I now own the Inspire and experience nearly the exact same battery life that i did on my Artix. Of course situations depend on user to user, whats running and what not.

I run email fetch every hour, weather update every hour, engadget news fetch every hour, twitter fetch every hour. with Wifi, GPS, and data on 24/7, with auto brightness.

I Now run the Andro Revo rom from XDA, with undervolted CPU and overclocked to 1.2 and experience much better bat life than i was on stock Inspire or Atrix with the Adeo rom

People have been mentioning to do factory resets if your battery life has been bad over @ XDA. Thats interesting that it jumped 20%, def let us know if that battery life has improved.

The battery in my Atrix seems to be getting better as a cycle through the battery more. I don't use it too much, but the last cycle it went through had the phone on for 1d 22hrs, with just ~4hrs display time, and wifi on the entire time. Its much better than the Touch Pro I am coming from.

It certainly isnt the easiest phone to root, but use my good friend bubby323's "Simple Root". Its certainly is the easiest method I have come to find. If you need help PM Bubby over at XDA, he is extremely helpful and would love to assist you in getting it rooted!
