So Torn!!! Antec vs Antec

Thread Starter
So I am doing my first build here and have come against a bit of a road block. I did a few different caculations via online systems (stayed away from neweggs) as for how much power I need and I decided to be in the 500 range to be safe. I will be running a 955BE (possible overclock) and a last gen GPU with only 1 HDD and 4gb memory so not too demanding.

The issue:

Here is a nice looking PSU at newegg that would give me a little room to grow

However, this psu is on sale right now and it more than meets my needs

Am I just caught up by the modular thing or would it be worth it in the long run for a few extra watts and better cable management. Let me know what you think!

If you don't mind nonmodular, I'd go for the NEO ECO 520 just because it's a great great deal it actually has more 12V rail amps than BP 550 Plus anyway (something the 550+ is low on, but it's still a good PSU)

BP550 shows as out of stock, so NEO ECO it is!

The NeoECO is better than the Basiq Plus in every way.

very nice! one more thing... anyone have an opinion on this guy?

The one review just said it was DOA, but anyone iffy about this line? I checked it out in a few places, and if it is only 25 bucks more for a solid 650w...

If not that Eco neo is going to be on its way this afternoon!

all theses are good choices, but i think a good 650 is a safe place to sit.will allow more future for more parts and you'll have the power you need. the egg always have good sales on psu's.

doa can happen to all products. bad luck. earthwatts are the best of all (basic power and neo cannot reach the earthwats) shown here. go with it!

The NeoECO 620C is probably better than the Earthwatts, but the Earthwatts is still a very solid PSU.

Umm... the Earthwatts units are OK but nothing special actually, I don't know where you get the impression that they're superior. They're quite mid-range by PSU standards and by Antec standards.
The EA650 Green is a new unit for which I have not seen any professional reviews yet, but it's made by Delta and should be a solid performer. Antec has had an EA650 unit for a while but this "Green" unit is newer and probably better ("probably" until actual reviews pop up).
