Windows XP .exe problem

Hello all!

I don´t know how to explain my problem, but at least i will try to do it

My problem is that when i try to open an .exe installer, it always gives me an error like "Files are corrupted", or "Error launching installer" and so on and so on. It always finds a way to block my files and all errors are connected with "corrupted files" or "unable to open archive".

I´ve tried many many installers.

What did i try before i got here with my problem

1. I thought that it is a virus, so i downloaded newest Avast Virus and made complete system scan. It didn´t find anything, absolutely anything! I think that´s because i installed a fresh copy of windows
2. Many people told me that it could be a fault in registry. I tryed many registry cleaners, but they all needed to install them, so it wasnt possible But then i found a portable CCleaner and also performed a full registry clean. It found many issues, so i cleaned them all. But installers still don´t work.

Yesterday i found a solution. I went to properties and set compability to Windows 98/ME and it worked. But it did since i downloaded some programs that need at least Win XP or 2000, so i couldn´t install them.

And what i can add that sometimes in tray there comes a warning triangle and it says something like "There are files with same names in system" (it doesnt say actually the same, because i have a russian version of system and i can´t translate it word-to-word ). But when i press this triangle, it disappears and nothing happens.

System: Windows XP Professional SP3
Computer: Samsung N220P netbook

ANY HELP IS WELCOME !

Would running a scan using Malwarebytes or Spyware Doctor show something Avast missed? You might try running scans with one or both of those.

I tried both, but it didn´t work because they both needed to install them and my problem didn´t afford doing it
