Depending on how that goes, I'll probably be picking up a 1080P monitor from Amazon later today. My poor bank account. I know some of you have said that I should go beyond 1080p, but even 24 inches is cutting it on how much screen space I want. I'm also not planning on going dual monitor setup, I think that looks awful. I'm also not going to return any of this stuff. There is no reason for me to pay a restocking fee when I can just wait a while for bulldozer to come out of save up for an i7 board and cpu!

Oh, and as per my last screenshot, FPS was staying 60+ when tons of **** was happening, averaging 100-120fps just running around though.

I did a test in TF2 after I OC'd the north bridge. 32 person server, last point to capture where everyone was around and everything was exploding, I think I saw it dip to 90fps. Most of the time it was staying at around 200FPS, and some parts it was even hitting the 300fps limit!

So, in a couple hours I'll post some GPU usuage and FPS charts after I get the parts put in, both in 1600x900 and 1920x1080 and post them up here, I'll also see if switching to a 16x dual lane for PCI-E helps.
Sounds good.. So, no bottleneck?? 100-200 fps is very good indeed.

From those many posts I got confused:
What did you do to go from 50 to 100 fps?

I guess I was kind of misleading with my previous posts. BC2 always ran at about an 80fps average, it was just when there was a ton of things happening that it would drop to the 50's. Bumping up the NB gave me about a 10% increase.

Got all the parts put in, running benchmarks at 1600x900 and 1920x1080 at 4ghz nb at 2.56.

For some reason my 1600 ram is only showing up as 1333?

Running 1600mhz on AM3 is considered as an OC, so you need to OC your RAM to be able to run them @ 1600mhz.

Keep in mind that the 4870x2, while still being a pretty fast card, really isn't al that fast compared to more recent cards anymore. I say either the card or the RAM's speed, I have a Phenom II quad at 3.2 GHz and it's plenty fast for most games still (except stuff like Metro 2033 or huge RTS games...)

Edit: Make sure you actually set your RAM to run at 1600MHz in your BIOS, most fast RAM will default to 1333MHz because that's technically the fastest speed supported by AMD.

He doesn't have 4870x2.

I'm a dummy, misread fail

I meant to say, don't overlook OC your CPU/NB. NOT the Northbridge on your motherboard, the actual memory controller on your CPU, just OC'ing that on my CPU gave me a very noticeable speed increase.

He DIDN'T say thats runnin in low FPS, did he? So why still taking on bottlenecks?
We are talking bottlenecks because his gpu is only reaching 60% usage which is clearly a cpu bottleneck

Better than a 4.0 Phenom II? Wrong. 3.6 Q6600 would be matched or bettered by PII at about 3.8.
More video cards wont help. He has already said his gpu usage is at like 60%, all adding better video cards will do is lower the gpu usage and up the average fps in areas he doesn't need the extra power. Stop telling people bottlenecks don't matter because this is yet another example of a clear bottleneck, adding more gpu power will do nothing but make the bottleneck bigger and lower his gpu usage more.

Getting a 1090t would actually help a lot since bc2 is one of the few games that utilize 6 cores. That being said I would say wait till bulldozer and sandy bridge is back and get either of those.

Ok I need a 1080P monitor.

Bad Company 2 Laguna Alta map 29-32 people playing.

1600x900 (accidnetly had it running at 4x AA as well)

Min - 30
Max - 137
Average - 80FPS

1920x1080 (this running at full 8x)

Min - 64
Max - 164
Average - 91

GPU load shows I'm still holding these cards back.

This is at 3.9ghz with 2.56 NB. Gonna see how high I can get my Processor to go stable. Hardware monitor showed it didnt even hit 45C during gaming.
