Sli 470 or 470 and 1080 monitor

Thread Starter
Greetings OCN
AK would like your opinion on how to improve gaming experience.
Should I SLI 2 GTX 470's or one 470 and a 1080p monitor?
I would think 1080p + 470 over sli 470, sli at 1600x900 seems overkill to me

SLI 470's at less than 1080 is just for epeen Go bigger monitor first
post #5 of 16
Definitely monitor + 470. If you can run games with your current setup at playable fps, it's logical you won't gain any experience upgrading cards. Many people underestimate the impact of a great monitor. You could even delve into 120Hz monitors for the price of a 470.

unanimous decision for 470 and 1080 monitor?
Just like everyone else, I say get the monitor, but try to find a deal on a nice monitor or even shell out for one. Don't skimp on some crappy Acer. That was my mistake. Whats your budget for the monitor, or do you have in mind?

Go for the monitor plus the 470? Who needs 20000 fps when you can have 1000 fps and extremely awesome monitor to go with it?

Well maybe Tom Ryan.
