Are you using a CRT?

Not really any different from the functionality of a PC monitor..

The 60 hz refresh rate argument is based around CRT technology. The screen would redraw and you'd essentially be receiving flashed light at 60 times per second. This is why when you use a video recorder against a CRT the image becomes crappy (mismatch in refresh/capture). LCD's are completely different in the way they refresh the screen.

Perhaps it's part of the game itself or you have sensitivity to changes in lighting (dim to bright rapidly, flashing explosions, etc)?

If it's not because of your monitor, try turning off motion blur. See if you can change the field of view too (although I don't think the field of view is different than other games in Crysis).

Thread Starter
I changed over to another rig and i got the same issue, i broke out my old 22 inch lcd and the same thing. I went and tried Halo 3 and Black(old game) and also got the headache. I tried running Unreal tournament 3 and still the headache. I went to where I got my glasses and had them do a quick check up. I had purchased 2 pairs, one for when I got outside and one for indoors. Turns out the indoor lenses had the wrong prescription and were not aligned properly. I have been using my other pair now for about 20 minutes and still no headache. Im so happy i can game and not break down into tears from the pain. Still i want to investigate why only fast passed shooters gave me the pain. When i put on my indoor glasses after using my outdoor ones i had like a crazy bloom effect.
lesson of the story: If you game with glasses make sure they are right.

As for my monitor. I have made plans to get a new TV tomorrow. I wish i had a proper computer area so i could have a proper monitor but, this is the best case ATM. thanks for the responses.

PS: When you buy glasses don't let them give you cheap plastic or polycarbonate lenses. Get yourself some quality optics. My indor lenses were not what I usually use. Essilor makes grate poly so does NXT also makes some good Trivex. Im telling you, Transitions poly (made by Essilor) with Crizal AR make some great lenses. But NXT Trivex + photochromatic + crizal are even better.
