Most people will flame you for this, i wont! Congrats on your new badass cpu purchase!

Good thing he wasnt spending your money then....

I got mine today...4.2 GHZ and running at 50C full load...My 950 was at 4 ghz running at 78C load...

intel says Ivy Bridge has always been set for Q4 2011.long time to wait without spending the money for new cpu.And from what ive seen QPI & IOH will be gone already.and on Waimea bay seen reports that it will only have a 100 mhz base clock.and harder to oc without messing up other hardware.and i'm not sold on SB yet.seen people saying intel might be trying to do away with oc in future. might be a little hope for my 990x down the road.was waiting for the 995x but looks like it might not be released and was going to get a 980x anyway and dont tend to buy used cpu's.so why not spend the extra $50 for the newer released.

You'll overclock using the Multiplier, just like Sandybridge and get 4.8+ on air wink.gif So I'm not sure how thats a bad thing or "harder" to OC.

If you really think OCing using the multiplier is so hard, you may wanna watch this:

Man good buy! Its always a waste to everyone who doesn't have it. if you have it to spend buy it. Some say its a waste then and say you should buy the $400 chip or $600 chip and then they go and buy the most expensive air cooler and 5 video cards and all this other random stuff spending more than you in the end. I say its good and you should get good speeds.

You gotta start from somewhere to upgrade. He preferred to start from his CPU.

I smell jealousy here. It is his money he can spend it on whatever he wants.

I might have to ask you what should I buy next. So, I wont be an idiot:rolleyes:
