Epeen it may be.... Just don't get mad bro when I slap you in the face with it...
Is your 4.6GHz on AIR stable? What is your V-core and what are your idle and load temps, respectively speaking?

That is a very impressive OC on Air by any measure.

Here is my 4.4GHZ OC and temps.

I am working on reinstalling Win 64 bit on my sig rig.

4.6 is at the same vcore and about 2-3 degrees different.

Had to sig that

As far as the topic on the forum goes, I agree with the "it's his money" idea. That is a great CPU regardless of the price and I'm sure you'll put it to good use

Awesome.

Here is the CPU-Z validation for 4.6 GHZ. I have been having it fold and play wow at the same time...no BSOD yet...I will run some prime test to further test the stability...but knock on wood its going strong right now...

This Noctua air cooler is well worth the money...Makes me wonder if I could get it any higher on water.....

That's some nice voltage for 4.6, and on AIR. what are the temps like?

I bet you can hit 5 GHZ easily on water.

@OP, Congrats on the new purchase.

What exactly are you using your computer for? Is it gaming primarily, or are you doing anything else with it?

Most people will flame you for this, i wont! Congrats on your new badass cpu purchase!
IIRC the 980x is only like $60 cheaper then the 990x
