Did anyone else get this cpu or am I alone.
congrats, what board are you planing to use?

Also for SSD I would recommend Intel SSD 250 Gb its not the fastest, but most reliable for sure.

it was too easy, just like SB, it was my 3rd attempt at settings lol, like 5 mins. First i tried 4.8ghz, that is all i wanted and I was bluescreening at windows start, i remembered i set my drives to IDE instead of AHCI, changed them back and it booted up just fine. I rebooted and set 5.2ghz with the same 1.563v and it booted up lol. I cannot wait for my X58A-OC and some DICe and LN2.

All the people insulting this guy in this thread is just pathetic and also a disgrace to OVERCLOCK.NET. I mean really? This guy goes and gets the best CPU on the planet and this is what he gets? It made me so angry reading all those posts and I hope you reported them all Kboom1 they need to be banned.
Congrats on the new CPU!!! I am getting one also as soon as I have enough money!!!

Thanks, Sir Overkill.

A lot of folks use the computer as nothing more than a gaming machine & way to browse the internet, for them it is a waste.
It is annoying that they think since it is a waste for them, it is a waste for everybody & that intel should never bother selling a cpu that they personally don't have a use for.

Much like sandy bridge, I'm trying to resist the urge to get a 990x...

IMO the X CPUs are for LN2/DI. On air for daily use you should be able to get close to the same OC using 970, 980x, or 990x. On the 970 you'll be forced to raise the BCLK, but that's half the fun imo, and you'll be missing out on performance on any of these 3 hex-chips if you don't raise the BCLK some.
