Random shutdowns - Page 2

I was getting alot of system shut offs. No Blue Screens, No Lock ups, Just a complete no warning shut off. Turned out to be the PSU. I was getting the Shut offs random. Like surfing the web, desktop, starting a game, 2 hours in a game.

I had this problem about a year ago on a totally different setup but the issue may be the same. I had an OCed Q6600 with CF 4850s on a generic 750w PSU that would shut down every time I ran prime95 or played a pretty demanding game. When I bought a PSU with higher efficiency, my problem was solved.

Hmm I thought it might be my psu at one point to. How would you test something like that?
I mean if the psu is a good brand.

Did you have CnQ on by any chances? You may have your H50 pump hooked up to the CPU header, which would downspeed the pump. Make sure you have all fan controls at 100%. 45C idle is REALLYYY high, like your pump isn't doing its job.

Look at the BIOS: "Advanced -> Hardware Health Configuration -> Shutdown Temperature". See if a temp at which the mobo resets the processor is specified.

That right there is the problem, diablotek PSU's are to be avoided at all costs. Review here http://www.hardocp.com/article/2010/...supply_review/

Trash it and get a better PSU.
