He wants it nowish so go with UD7 i guess, but you might not get a replacement B3 stepping when its out since most resellers now require you to sign a form stating you understand the board SATA 2 might fail and you are ok with that.

Having said that Gigabyte bios on P67 is a pain in the arse atm maybe they fixed it but i personally didnt enjoy any bit of it having it telling me my overclocking failed everytime i rebooted.

non of the local computer shops stock any of the new stuff or any high spec stuff, if you want anything high spec you need to get them to order it

I'll phone the place I'm ordering from to check that I'll get a new one when the replacements are released

"- Potential Sandybridge issue:
- In some cases, motherboards featuring the 6 Series Chipset (P67 & H67) that have Sata devices connected to ports 2-5 could potentially degrade over time.
- Motherboards with devices connected to Ports 0 & 1 remain unaffected or using the 6Gb/s ports.
- Please note if your board is affected by the above issues, your statutory rights remain to RMA the board.
- Tests have found that under 5% of boards are affected.
- PLEASE NOTE THERE IS NO POTENTIAL ISSUE TO SANDYBRIDGE PROCESSORS "

that to me says I can RMA it even if I buy it knowing it has the bad chipset, but I will phone to make sure

ok new plan after reading some reviews/opinions/experiences ect (I change my mind too often, this is set now, just about to order!)
Asus P8P67 DELUXE

It will do me fine for a while, I don't plan on any extreme overclocking, a slight performance increase will be fine, I plan on buying 2 more hd 6950's in the future, when I do this I will also buy a new motherboard, OR if they offer me a refund when the new boards come out I'll be getting the UD7 or the Asus Maximus IV then

shopping cart:
Asus P8P67 DELUXE
Asus ATI HD 6950
4x4GB G.Skill RipJawsX
60GB OCZ Vertex SSD
1TB Seagate Barracuda (sata 6gb)
i7 2600k

Should have it tomorrow

already have my HAF X, 1000w psu and H70

Sin0822, did you mention somewhere else in this forum that there may be some changes/updates to the UD7 when it is re-released here in March? Can you elaborate on what the improvements might be? I have a UD7 currently but was thinking of changing to Asus Maximus Extreme myself after returning for B3 but I am curious about UD7 now due to comments. Thanks
post #18 of 27
There is no difference in b3 revision for all makers other than the p67 chipset, bios will be modified to read the new stepping thats about it.

Issues with the overclocking fail and bios reflash will probably and hopefully be solved on future bios if they manage pull their brains together.........

I found the thread where Sin0822 mentioned it.

" i would get the UD7 over the maximus 4 extreme. Both will OC the same, and since you like the OC Genie crap get the MSI i think.

OH and GB is going to change things for their new P67 boards a tiny bit, so you really shouldn't chose now "

Just wondering what they are changing is all.
they told me that some things are going to change, but after hearing some other news this might not be the case. They didn't tell me what they just said they wanted to work with me on the new board, but i didn't hear anything else and it seems the new boards will be out sooner than later.
