Yes, this is a hard drive from my old computer with Windows already installed on it.

So, to do this I would have to format the drive in the Windows 7 install? Curses, I just installed all the programs I needed too... Oh well...

Is it full version or Upgrade copy of new OS?

That would help to know this. I mean which Win 7 do you have. OEM, Full Version or Upgrade?

Try plugging the cable into the video card on first boot not the onboard mobo port. My onboard port has never worked even the very first time I ever booted with no OS. It ran onboard graphics, but they were processed through my PCI-E slot.

Err yes well that wont work, that "shortcut" rarely will. Maybe can if yoy have the HDD drive plugged on a different system as a second drive and reomove ALL old drivers then plug it on the new one, and install all the new mobo drivers, but you need it to boot to windows for that, it wont so you need to reinstall windows (clean install) along with all the new mobo drivers

For the best stability I would reformat and reinstall if you have a new version of windows.

I have Windows 7 Ultimate 32 Bit. I don't know if it is OEM or anything.

Which installation pack is it? OEM, Full Version or Upgrade?

If it's Upgrade then the old OS is not your problem... well it could still be but you just have to dig out any OS disc stick it in the drive when asked for it and then continue with the upgrade.

OEM and Full Version require a freshly formatted drive unless 7 was already on it. Which it wasn't right?

It should say right on the package unless you got it directly online from MS and you burned an ISO to install the OS.
