[ENG] Motorola Xoom review - Page 2

The SDK was released just recently, so devs are still working on tablet-centric apps. Engadget should have taken that fact into consideration before dissing the Xoom with its "limited" number of launch apps.

Plus, unlocked bootloader = XDA PARTAYYYY

To be honest I would pay $800 for one if I had the money, it looks like a nice piece of hardware with the option for 4g if u have the money for whatever ungodly amount verizon will be charging and XDA and app makers are going to go nuts with that sdk/unlocked bootloader.
Isn't there a $600 wifi-only version?? I am pretty positive that I have read that somewhere.

EDIT: http://www.engadget.com/2011/02/16/m...n-verizon-600/

$600 matches the iPad's 32gb model exactly.

Anyone who thinks the Xoom is overpriced doesn't understand the purpose of a tablet in the first place.

I don't see how what you quoted is unfair at all.
Seriously? Engadget may as well have Steve Jobs as an author, one of the least neutral sites around.

The price of this will no doubt drop after a few weeks, as with all new tech.

I just tried out the xoom today and its got some cool features and it looks cool but the OS is buggy , the response time is slower than my evo and it just didn't seem like it was worth 800 bucks as far as android tabs go I favor the galaxy tab over the xoom, the best tab I tested today was the ipad 2 its slim functional, super fast response time is it worth its price , kinda I actually think it was another thread on ocn that said it best that Apple is good but they'll try to get you into a 500 dollar a year or more upgrade pattern that's just how Apple is. But back to the xoom I am very disappointed in my trial of it today after getting all hyped by the commercials , id say its like a 5/10 they need to make some improvements and try not to fall into the competition trap with apple.

Still can't figure out the draw of the tablet. Only application I see is for the elderly who think the font on a cell phone is too small...
