Ok Ok Im confused enough, i just starightly wanna know if i5 2500k is better than x6 1090t. I can see 45$ price difference but still i have to be sure: Quad vs Hexa cores.

Not sure where you're getting those prices, at newegg, there's exactly 30 USD seperating the two.

At everything. Encoding, rendering, all the stuff the hexcore should be good at, the 2500k dominates. When it comes to gaming and power consumption, it's not even close. "It's not in the same ballpark, it's not even the same ..er.. sport."

If amd even remotely supported all the correct instruction sets, it might be different. But as it stands, the 6 core amd's are just for name only. Everything that you need six cores for, amd does not support.
