Project Black-n-Blue - Page 2

Looks sweet!

but... a gtx480 sli config is bottle-necked by a stock clock i7 (X58)... you have two 570's which are the 480 equiv and a dual core i5... i seriously recommend getting an i7 and getting it to 3.5-4ghz stat! (where there seams to no longer be much of a bottleneck)

Just thought i would say it.

And here it is with everything installed. Took awhile but I got it done. Really like the outcome. Hope you guys like it to. Post some comments and opinions. I wanna hear your thoughts on this project.

K here from top to bottom:
--On top is the NZXT SENTRY 2 5.25-Inch Touch Screen Fan Controller (Black)
--Next I have a LG Supermulti DVD drive
--Lamptron FC3 Fan Speed Controller 30W x 4 Channel Black
--And then on the bottom I installed a custom 2way bayswitch to control my leds.

Well there you have it, all setup and ready to smash anything thrown at it Really enjoyed buidling this thing from start to finish. Learned alot along the way from custom painting the case, to installing a water cooling system, all which I never done before. So alot of pride went into this build and I think it shows. Now thats shes done, all thats left is to benchmark and start playing my favorite games. I wanna hear your opinions guys so let me know what can I do to improve this build or just drop some opinions on what you think bout this build. Well its time to celebrate!!!

Yea I was thinking bout that too. Cuz i ran a couple of benchmarks already and noticed a lil poor performance in scores. But when I game its silky smooth. I got the i5 OC'd to 4.5GHz STABLE!!! First time achieving such a high overclock but I did it. I'll post some pics of it later on. I already got an i72600k here just sitting its box unopen waiting to be unleashed. The reason is that I ordered an MSI P67 motherboard when Intel was doing there recall so I had to snatch up a i5 and another mobo for the moment. So by april i'll be upgrading to the Sandy Bridge as soon as they release there motherboards.

Yea I was really dissapointed when I found out my order had been cancelled by Amazon cuz of this recall. So I actually went on another site where they had it on sale and did rapid shipping. But then they also cancelled my order and sent me an email stating that they won't be releasing anymore of the P67 motherboards till the end of April . So I guess I have to keep that i7 boxed up till then . But I'm enjoying this i5 as you can see I overclocked it to 4.5Ghz! I'll just keep trying to push it to the limits till it burns out as I have the i7 as backup

I agree.. you might need to improvise cuz i think that can cause stress on the pump if it's not regulated right isn't it? You don't wanna have leaks too *knocks on wood.*

LOL, yea I know what you mean. But its sealed tight as I test it 24hrs outside the case before installing with no leaks. The only reason it's tilted that way is because the cables from the power supply to the graphics cards are running in between the tubes of the res. I could straighten it up by putting the cables behind the tubes but then I would have to take everything out. I'll do that when I upgrade to a Sandy Bridge mobo. Besides it looks kinda cool like that, as it were to spill all the water out but it won't since it's air tight!

Thanks for the advice guys. The pump is directly under the res and tubes are long enough that both aren't being stressed in anyway. But as a precaution I will straighten it tomorrow and post some pics on how it looks.
