What's wrong with wireless? A properly done wireless setup works fine for gaming. The mamba and orochi work great wirelessly too.

People have different needs too...

^ This

To others...
My needs are centered around a professional look and mobility . With a sleek wireless mouse and keyboard, I can easily use them with my laptop as needed or toss them on my desk and do more intensive stuff on the computer.

I enjoy the ocassional game, but Im definitely not a competitive gamer so the "awesomeness" of corded peripherals is completely lost and instead I am burdened.

Look at my first post on page 1 its a very sleek mouse. Going to be harder to find a better looking mouse.

New high end cordless mice no longer suffer from any types of delays, and haven't for a few years. Even my old MX Revolution worked great for gaming (it was an awesome mouse).
