Bought two reservoirs. Derp.

Hey.

I recently bought 2 reservoirs, because 1 man can never have enough.

So do install both of them? Double the aesthetics?

What are the consequences of doing this?

Thanks in advance.

Take up space?

Not a water man but it sounds impractical.

there isn't really much of an effect having more then one, just more water volume which can sometimes help with temps a tiny bit. just hooked them up in series, and dont' ever open then both at the same time. LOL. One res above the other would flood into the lower res if you opened both at the same time.

You can run them both, but as noted...don't open them both up at the same time and make sure they are sealed really well. Two open at once acts as a vent and if one is at all lower than any point in the system, it will become old faithfull...

pump works just a little harder

takes up more space as you know

makes your one loop cost more (DUH)

i'd leave 1 out and keep the other as a backup or for another loop later

Mmm, thanks for the help.

Just curious if this picture can show any problems with have dual res?

I'm currently putting it together now. It's a pain in the ass on the fingers.

Yes, this won't work as you have the output of your pump pushing into a res and then trying to push all that extra water up to your CPU block and then up to the rad. Depending on how big of a res that is you might not have enough head pressure to push on that horizontal body of water to make it go up the tube.

You will get zero value out of that horizontal res. If anything put it in series next to the vertical one, flow down into your pump and then up to the CPU block and rad. Two res's is WAY overkill for a single CPU block loop.

Thank you.

I fully understand that it will limit the pressure of the loop.

But I dont really want to just leave it sitting outside doing nothing.

So you suggest something like this?

I'd have it going from radiator to res #1 and res #1 and pump. so res inlet is hooked up from radiator and outlet of res#1 is hooked up to res #2 inlet and then res #2 outlet to pump

Just for show it will bring no performance.... And it will restrict flow a bit... I would rather go with another Rad those you never have enough hehe
