New to SSD's

Thread Starter
Hey OCer's I think I have what I would say is a pretty high end rig and the final thing I want to do with my rig is add a SSD for my OS and just a few of the games I play. I wanna put all my storage, media, games im not playing, tv shows. on my old 7200rpm hdd's and run my current couple games on my SSD.
I was thinking something around 100Gigs would suffice. So keeping that in mind Im looking to spend around 180$ - 250$ max. Can you guys fill me in on what to look for or link me some good SSDs in the range I am looking for?

Revo drive just a tad over my price range... but its 120g and the write and read rates are almost double that of a normal drive... Worth it?

Don't get the Vertex 2 - it's made on 25nm NAND now, which means it's almost half the advertised speed and has a shorter lifespan.

I'd be wary of anything OCZ right now - they really screwed over a bunch of customers by selling under the same name/model as their better-performing 34nm drives. Do your research on any drive you are considering purchasing, and make sure it's CURRENTLY made of 34nm NAND not 25nm. I'd recommend Mushkin, but they're all out of everything but the 40GB and 240GB variety on newegg.

SgtSpike beat me to it, but if you can find older OCZ, the Vertex series has been good to me.
