rpm control of the jingway pumps

Thread Starter
Hey guys,

I know it's not really necessary with rpm control, but would there be any problems running the pump from a fan controller?

What's the best way of controlling the pump rpm?

thats pretty much all any controller is is a reostat or a pwm supply

it should be fine, some people even hook low wattage pumps to their mother baord fan connectors and controll them via software from the motherboard
dont do this with a 18watt dcc pump your fan port will burn out

what fan controller do you have?

if the fan is able to handle 16watts then sure go ahead.

Thanks for the replies (weekend and such, so I never got back to check on the thread)

I've got two zalman controllers one simple rheostat, like this:
http://www.frozencpu.com/products/98...FanMate-2.html

And; A zalman zm-mfc1, like this http://www.silentpcreview.com/article86-page1.html

Looks like they are both to low on W's.

Would a pwm controller be a problem? http://www.frozencpu.com/products/12...?tl=g47c17s240

Trying to figure out how this ended up in my subscribed threads even though I never been here or posted here before... Sry for being so off topic about this, just has me confused...

On another note, I agree with the other guys, as long as the fan controller can handle it, it should be a problem.

I wonder why would you want to regulate a JW pump... They're dead silent if mounted on the supplied pad (at least Phobyas and EKs do supply one).

Aaah good ol' times on the Hydor L20... That thing was NOISY and RATTLY to death...

I have my pump (DD CPX-Pro, i.e. Jingway) connected my Sunbeam Extreme Rheobux, just because the cable is right there, easily done and at full speed works great, silent. Have never turned down the knob, no reason to.
