Min. watt reccomended requirements to run Nvidia video cards

Thinking of buying an Nvidia card? For those new to all this, if you've done a search in the forum here is a list of PSU watt recommended requirements. Doesn't mean something lower in watts can't be used.

EVGA Website
GTX 460 - 450 watts 12v rail with 24 Amps current recommended min requirement.
GTX 470 SC - 550 watts 12v rail with 38 Amps current recommended min requirement.
GTX 480 SC - 600 watts 12v rail with 42 Amps current recommended min requirement.
GTX 560 SC - 500 watts 12V rail with 30 Amps current recommended min requirement.
GTX 570 SC - 550 watts 12v rail with 38 Amps current recommended min requirement.
GTX 580 SC - 600 watts 12v rail with 42 Amps current recommended min requirement.

Nvidia Website Under "Specifications" tab.
Geforce GTX 460 - 450 watts min recommended requirement
GeForce GTX 470 - 550 watts min recommended requirement
GeForce GTX 480 - 600 watts min recommended requirement
GeForce GTX 560 - 500 watts min recommended requirement
GeForce GTX 570 - 550 watts min recommended requirement
GeForce GTX 580 - 600 watts min recommended requirement

Side note: The GTX 470 and GTX 480 are now listed in the "PREVIOUS GENERATION PRODUCTS". Seems they have officially stopped making these cards being replaced with the newer 500 series. I expect the GTX 460 to follow shortly which I will edit with update.

Here is a few links to PSU calculators that will help figure out what you will need for verification. My suggestion is you allow yourself an extra 50 watts head room over and above what's required as to not run at full load. Also it dosen't hurt and might allow you to upgrade your video card later down the road to something better without having to switch out your PSU.

Happy gaming!

Those specs all came from EVGA and each cards suggested min watt recommendation. I complied them and put them together.

I added the PSU calculator links so each person can check what their individual needs will be based on what's in their own systems for verification. Just a guideline.

I rechecked those links and they are working to each said company website. Not sure why you are being directed to the same website at "outervision".
