What if I set my VCore at 1.45 volt?

Hello,

I have my i7 950 stable at 4.5Ghz with VCore 1.45 - 1.46 volts.
I want this for 24/7..

But i know the CPU life will be shorter than with a lower voltage.
But how many years shorter?

I just want to stick with this CPU for maximum 3 years..
Is that enough for 1.45 v?

If that chip is stable at that wattage and max temps stay under, I wanna say 75C I don't really see any reason it will not last that long. If your pushing 85-90c every time you you hit full load then you might be pushing it.

Once again, with anything less than extremes (such as 1.55v and beyond), heat is the deciding factor when it comes to the CPU's lifespan. Control the heat, ensure a stable overclock and your 950 will be living a long happy life.
