My Server/Rack build - Page 3

Not bad at all mate!
I'm sure it will be higher with both cores stressed, but how often is that going to happen?

Running LinX on it now! Ran it for 5min, 104.1 to 106.2 watts Note idle = 800mhz, Load = 2.7ghz

Edit, copying files from one server to the other. Saturating the gbps

Got the second server built. Now this shows how IDENTICAL builds can be differant. The second server there is a one slot spare between each hard drive, the temp differance is 5-7c PER DRIVE

Nice build, what you planning to do with the servers, seeing you have two identical machines?

I'm looking for a case like you using, but that make doesn't exist here (although it seems rather generic, just need to find one that is made here), like that you could squeeze so many hard drives in it, want to build a file server

They are being used primarily for file storage so A) dont end up filling my PC with loads of drives B) laptops, 360 etc accessing said files. Not going to fold on them as i like the low power/heat they are.

Just a note from me, I see you are using CiT power supplys. Although they are cheap and cheerful I have had several people come to me with CiT PSU's that have exploded and killed their servers :/. There just not reliable enough to be on 24/7 in a server

I love your naming scheme i use names from Norse mythology not just gods, Asgard is the realm of the gods not A god dont forget

Lol, I give mine dirty names:

Red Light district (My PC, full of red lights)
Lapdance (laptop)
Nasty (FreeNAS box)

The other one is a bit more clever:
Arachnophobia is my web server (fear of spiders)

Now I need to think of something for a soon-to-be ESX machine, and an intrusion detection system. Maybe greek gods for a change?

Pervert! though i am now giggling..i mean.......doing a manly laugh in the office and getting odd looks

Started to wire things up, managed to knacker one Module or cable somehow as it only lets things connect at 100mbps, might pull it apart then punchdown again.

Pic shows mostly what ive done patch panel wise though i am using ports 9 and 10 aswell, am vaguely splitting each "bank" of patch ports into each room/area
