Broken USB ports Playstation 3, any way to fix?

Thread Starter
Not sure where this goes, so I'll just post it here. I also have another thread over at [H], but I don't think it'll hurt to gather more opinions/info.

I have a PS3 CECHA01 (original model) with nonworking USB ports. I plugged in a USB battery charger, and nothing lights up on the charger. The PS3 does not find any controllers connected to it. Any idea what's going on, and if there's anything I can do to fix it? One person mentioned it might be a blown fuse, is that replaceable by me? Everything else seems to be working perfectly, there's output to the screen and everything. All USB ports are not working.

Try buying a cheap faulty YLoD motherboard. Then desolder the USB ports from the faulty YLoD'd motherboard and resolder them onto your working motherboard. Might do the trick.

Might be a loose cable inside, it's worth popping it open and having a look. You're going to have to to fix the issue anyway.

The USB ports are soldered to the motherboard. There are no cables.
