I'd say it depends on the game.

for me, generally, i would go for i5 2500k after q9550...
its 120e cheaper than i7 2600...
i5 2500k is 170e
mobo ASUS P8H67-M is 114e...
and as i see most guys are commenting that this cpu would be ideal for gaming.. so futureproof...
afterall SB makes big difference

A Core 2 Quad and Phenom II stand no chance in multithreaded applications against an i7. In gaming I'd say its a different story.

That will probably be a GPU bottleneck with all the eye candy turned on. I doubt either game will bottleneck a 5 GHz SB CPU.

Besides, so far the demo for Crysis 2 isn't anything amazing as far as stressing the CPU. About 20-25% load on my Core i7 2600K at 4.8GHz =\\

Make sure you get a P67 board with a K CPU, not an H67 board.

Yeah I'll do it later Not at home currently. Crysis 2's physics are pretty limited compared to Crysis 1/Warhead and the game was obviously designed to be more linear for consoles.
