Getting ready to connect everything-Advice please

Thread Starter
Greetings fellow overclock.net member,

After several months of collecting my components piece by piece I finally have everything that I need to connect my system and fire it up, but I wanted to double check and see what I am supposed to do, because this will be my first time going under water. A link to a good thread for first time water-coolers would be nice.

1. I have read that I need to rinse my radiator before I install the loop. What is the best way to do that?

2. I have read that distilled water with a silver coil is the way to go, but before I read that I purchased some red PC Pure coolant and I want to know if it is ok to use for a few months as a temporary solution or if the dye in the coolant will linger around later on. I plan on taking apart the loop and adding (a) new GPU(s) to it when I can afford to upgrade the graphics on my system (hopefully in a few months).

3. My systems specs are located below, but if you need any more details about my system just ask me, and I will post that info.

Thanks for reading!!

One really good guide I have read can be found here: http://www.clunk.org.uk/forums/water...beginners.html

Very in depth, I hope you find this of some value to your questions!

boil some water (tap water is fine) add some vinager, pure into rad and slosh around
repeat till your getting clean water out

then rinse with distilled water 2 or 3 times
you clean

dont add anything but distilled, silver killkoil (pk nuke for a little extra care if you want) and maybe just a little corrosion block like fessers blocker incase your mixing metals

any color and you take a chance on it seperating at some point and clogging things up
it actually likes to get down in the pins/fins of the cpu block and thus limit heat transfer to the water over time.

this is how my loop has been for 9 months no and its still xtal clear

I am going to do a spring tear down just to check the cpu block but i'm still at the same temps I was when I put it together so I know i'm good
